Fox and American Idol 5 Winner

Update: Taylor Hicks won this year’s American Idol.Tech Review site has already begun posting about the American Idol 5 Winner, that just started. Should be a great season, wonder who will be the first to predict who wins the Season 5 on Fox’s American Idol.

There are some changes to American Idol 5. Unlike previous seasons, American Idol 5’s initial “the good, the bad, and the ugly” open audition broadcasts will focus more on Idol judges Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson reactions to each. “This time, we left the cameras rolling on the judges after the person left the room,” American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe told reporters during a Friday conference call. The change means more screen time for Paula , Simon, and Randy and of course more footage of their squabbles. “At one point, Simon storms out of the room and can’t take Randy and Paula anymore and leaves the audition,” said Lythgoe.

Also changed in the new season will be the presence of celebrity judges in a move that pleased Idol’s regular judges, the new season won’t have any.

Cinderella Man

Cinderella Man

SYNOPSIS

“Cinderella Man” is a film based on the true story of legendary fighter Jim Braddock. His once promising career in the boxing ring comes to a halt after he breaks his hand and suffers other injuries which result in a string of heartbreaking losses and his boxing license is removed. The nation enters into the Great Depression and years go by as Braddock struggles to keep his family warm, well fed and most importantly, together. He hustles down the to docks everyday hoping to be picked to work and earn a days wage. Braddock however, never abandons his dream to box again, and he gets an opportunity to enter the ring when another fighter cancels a challenge against the second-ranked world contender. Braddock, as the “fill-in”, and to everyone’s amazement, wins in the third round. This sets in motion a series of events that catapult Braddock, a true underdog, to challenge a fighter renowned for killing two men in the ring, Max Baer, the heavyweight champion of the world.

BASIC FACTS

“Cinderella Man” stars Russell Crowe and Renee Zellweger and is directed by Ron Howard. It takes place in the early 1930’s during the Great Depression and is the story of boxer Jim Braddock.

QUICK REVIEW

This is a very enjoyable film because the hero, Jim Braddock, is a man of integrity and honor. He is extremely likable and as a viewer, you want to see him win in the ring. You hurt when he doesn’t and Howard’s direction almost makes you physically hurt during some of the fight sequences.

This movie is not only about boxing, for me it is about family. Braddock has a love for his family that is so deep, so true, that the viewer is pulled right in. He cares for his children and works very hard to provide for them which was a daily struggle during the depression. There are some very heart touching moments of Jim with his children, teaching them honesty and sacrifice. He is a man of humility and that is what makes the character so great. (more…)

Film Editing for the Christian Viewer

Are you fed up with all of the bad language you are subjected to when you watch a movie?

Do you cringe each and every time you hear the Lord’s name taken in vain?

Are you sick and tired of having to fast forward through, or actually having to sit through those gratuitous sex scenes found in too many movies these day?

And these are the movies that are rated PG-13!?

Me too!

With that kind of glorified sin going on, I don’t dare watch an “R” rated movie!

So, I gave CleanFilms.com a try.

*** PLEASE NOTE: CRIMSONLIGHT.COM IS IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH CLEANFILMS.COM!!!

I found a service that makes it possible to view movies that I wouldn’t normally view and simply wanted to pass the information along to those readers who enjoy family time watching movies without worrying about “bad scenes” and who often avoid movies because of the unacceptable language/sex/violence. This service is helpful to those who try so hard to live a life that is holy and pleasing to the Lord.

Clean Films provides movies that are edited. The filthy language is removed and some of the most violent or sexually explicit scenes are simply omitted. Clean Films refers to the final product as a “Family Edited” movie. From CleanFilms.com:

“We take out profanity and other offensive language. We also remove nudity, sexual situations, and extreme or gory violence. Our intent is to edit movies so that they become comparable to a PG rating, which often means that we will edit out content that the networks might leave in when they show the same movie on TV.”

With Clean Films, there is also peace of mind when allowing your children to view these movies, especially when they may have friends over. You don’t need to worry that they will see something inappropriate but Clean Films does warn: (more…)
