Dove Award winning and Grammy nominated Day of Fire rocked the house in Jackson, TN last night (05/27)! Lead singer, Josh Brown, fronted the band with the talent and energy of a veteran rocker on the road. His enthusiasm is contagious. When he speaks, the audience listens, and that gives him the platform to share his amazing testimony of conversion from drug addiction while fronting the band Full Devil Jacket, and touring with bands such as Creed, to his current role as frontman for Day of Fire. Brown has a fiery passion for Jesus Christ and his mission is to share the hope that he found in Him. Brown makes every effort to return to his native Jackson a few times a year and play for his fans in Jackson, who always make it out to support him and his bandmates in Day of Fire. The show was the last stop on the Reborn Tour and featured other bands Red, Fighting Instinct, and gave a guest spot to local favorite Vulpine.
All proceeds from this show help support the ministry of The Dream Center in Jackson, TN. The Dream Center is a ministry that helps people in need; those breaking free from the bondage of the drugs, alcoholism, abuse, etc. The Dream Center offers the love and hope of Jesus Christ, and as Brown explained last night, “it is one of the few places in the world where one can see the love of God in the eyes of the people who run it.” Brown told the enthusiastic home crowd that it is where he wrote “Cornerstone”, the first single release off the Day of Fire debut.
Day of Fire combine strong faith and aggression with heavy guitars and abrasive lyrics. This year it is Day of Fire’s mission to rock the world with their sophomore album, “Cut and Move” ( in stores 6/6/06 ) on essential/sonyred. Join: Zach Simms, Chris Pangallo, Joe Pangallo, Gregg Hionis, and Joshua Brown in the journey that is Day of Fire. This year we will see you on the road.
Day of Fire played an awesome set of headbangin’ hard rock for the home crowd with a good mixture of songs from both their debut CD and some new material off their upcoming “Cut and Move” release (street date 06/06/06). The tunes sound great and will most likely take Day of Fire to the next level with a mark in Christian rock history. I predict more Dove Awards for this faith-filled rock band, and maybe this year they’ll turn their 2005 Grammy nomination (losing out to Audio Adrenaline) into a 2006 Grammy Award!
