FF5 – Family Force 5-Radiator

Everyone loves a good music video and it is time to get one up now! Here is Radiator by FF5 also known as Family Force 5.

Family Force 5 uses elements of rap, post-hardcore, alternative rock, punk rock, and club oriented crunk, and sometimes a nu metal sound.

The band often cites their own style as crunk rock. Most songs contain heavy use of synthesizers and simple power chord riffs. Some songs make references to break dancing, use Crunk style loops, or a club atmosphere. The song “Supersonic” spells out the word “crunk” in the lyrics. Many lyrics also make reference to the fact that the band is from Atlanta. They have been labeled as having a similar sound to Marilyn Manson. The band has tried to distance themselves from this image, as they do not feel it is true to what they stand for.

When asked about their “Love Addict” video and its relation to their Christian image, Solomon Olds states “They want Sandi Patty all over again. They want Amy Grant. And most times, it’s people that don’t understand new art, new videos… We want to make music that is for God, but at the same time, we want to make music that people enjoy and that they’re not turned off by.”

Solomon’s quote is so true. The church really needs to lighten up on music. I’d put money down that most of them that raise a stink on music probably don’t have an issue going to movies that might seem a little “edgy”. Just my opinion.
