Film Editing for the Christian Viewer
Are you fed up with all of the bad language you are subjected to when you watch a movie?
Do you cringe each and every time you hear the Lord’s name taken in vain?

I found a service that makes it possible to view movies that I wouldn’t normally view and simply wanted to pass the information along to those readers who enjoy family time watching movies without worrying about “bad scenes” and who often avoid movies because of the unacceptable language/sex/violence. This service is helpful to those who try so hard to live a life that is holy and pleasing to the Lord.
Clean Films provides movies that are edited. The filthy language is removed and some of the most violent or sexually explicit scenes are simply omitted. Clean Films refers to the final product as a “Family Edited” movie. From CleanFilms.com:

I was skeptical of some films, so I rented (on a free trial basis) Top Gun (PG), Speed (R), and last night we viewed The Shawshank Redemption (R). I have to say I am most impressed with the editing of these films. The storyline and the intensity of the films remain intact, and for me they are much more enjoyable to watch when they are cleaned up.
ABOUT THE EDITING:
Most of the time you can not even tell that you are watching an edited film, but there are times a scene cut is noticeable and the volume drop on a vulgar term is obvious. Those are minor things and easily overlooked and prove to be much less offensive than the original unedited material, and does provide for peace of mind when allowing your children to view these movies. To me the infrequent noticeable editing is a minor inconvenience that is barely worth mentioning. There is a disclaimer on CleanFilms.com that “content-edited version of the movies which CleanFilms carries may not reflect the intent of the motion picture studios, directors, and producers.” Clean Films does an excellent job of “Family Editing” the films and as a result, this reviewer has decided to continue my membership after the free trial period expires.

It has allowed us to view movies together that we wouldn’t normally watch and I am very thankful for a service such as this. Now, if only Hollywood would catch on!
