YPN’s Quality Based Pricing Review on MoreMerchant.com

YPN recently started their Quality-Based Pricing and there was a lot of complaining but no facts. now MoreMerchant.com has a review of Yahoo! Publisher Network’s Quality Based Pricing with some facts.

The results are in and I am very pleased with Yahoo’s Quality-Based Pricing. I am making almost 50% more than before Quality-Based Pricing took affect. So my sites must be high quality.

YPN Christmas Presents

Professional Blogging - YPN and Yahoo Presents

Yahoo Publisher Network (YPN) which is a direct competitor to Google Adsense doesn’t seem to have sent Christmas presents to the majority of publishers. Google sent a digital picture frame and has sent presents for multiple years now.

YPN has had many complaints about their program. Not being international has hurt YPN over and over as well as being slow to roll out advancements. Others feel that the payout rate from YPN is much lower than Google Adsense. At first everyone was raving about the rates YPN was paying but that quickly subsided.

At BlogTopper we have stuck with YPN as we like their customer service and our pay rates have seemed reasonable. We would like YPN to advance quicker, and we do feel that improvements are on the horizon.

A handful of publishers that use them have been in contact with me about the lack of presents form YPN. All are in agreement that they would rather have higher rates, than a present from YPN, but neither seem to have happened.

Google and Youtube

So we all know that Google bought Youtube. The Youtube founders released a video where they were almost giddy. They lacked professionalsim but who cares when you are worth 1.6 billion now.

So good job Youtube guys. Congrats.

What I am excited is that Google may figure out a way to share revenue with those that upload videos. Awesome. So I can produce a weekly show, gain viewers, and make money.

Pretty cool. Anyone want a tv show? I may finance it if it is good.

Click Fraud is Huge

We are hearing that Click Fraud is around 14%. This means that 14% of clicks on sites that use Google Adsense (most ads), YPN (not many yet), MSN Adcenter and the other small companies are not good clicks, yet must be paid for. This is billions of dollars. This is a huge problem.

If they are saying 14%, then it probably is 20 - 28% would be my guess. I hope that YPN and Adsense can figure it out, because our income relies on it. If they don’t advertisers will run the other direction. We want advertisers running to online ads so we can make more not run away and make less.

If you are a person that contributes to click fraud you are one sick puppy. You are going to ruin it for thousands of people. If you know someone that is contributing to this, please turn them in.

This definately hurts us all. It hurts those of us that work hard to build great websites with information for our readers. It is illegal, it is stealing, and jus tplain wrong.

We must stop click fraud before it takes online advertising down.
