Tammy NYP From Singapore

Tammy from NYP has taken the web by storm.  BlogTopper.com has this to say:

Lately, I have been hit with spam with sex scandal news about a 17-year-old student (who is also a cheerleader) name Tammy from NYP - Nanyang Polytechnic. The story was about Tammy’s recorded video of she and her boyfriend in a sex scene, which was stolen by a so-called friend.

Bloggers Switching from YPN Adsense

** update below on JenSense **

Over the past 3 months or so Darren Rowse from problogger.net has switched his sites back to Adsense from YPN! (Yahoo Publisher Network).  Today, I noticed that Jensense.com also has switched back.

This of course will always come down to where they are making more money.  Darren switched back rather quick, Jen stayed with it much longer.  CrimsonLight.com blogging Network home of http://moremerchant.com and the new http://travel.moremerchant.com has stuck with YPN.

Many of you ask why?  I am not sure why.  Google has not responded well to our emails in the past, and in fact the customer service has been terrible.  They at one time banned the entire network saying that it was linked to another website.

Well, that stinks.  If you buy a domain that has been banned before you owned it, you are screwed it seems with the lack of response to emails except prewritten emails, you will not get back in.  Doesn’t matter that you are a different owner.  They banned the entire network.

That is the main reason.  I am sure one of us could call in and work our way out of the mess that Google has caused us, but the emails should have got the conversation started, and Google could care less.  So we stick with Yahoo, as they have communciated well with us and have sought out our opinion.

I am getting worried about the payout rates.  They have crashed over the past 2 months.  Clicks that were averaging $8 - $10 a click are now under $1.  So this is worrisome to us, and is beginning to hit us bigtime in the checks.  Yahoo assures us they are working through the kinks, and I appreciate at their communication, ths we are still here due to these 2 reasons.

If Google Adsense took the initiative to finally fox the problem and return one of the emails we would be much more likely to switch, so that is the main reason I assume.

It is interesting to see who sticks with YPN, and who goes back to Adsense.

** update**

Jensense seems to be switching ads, which will be awesome to see what she is experienceing in comparing the ads.  We will bring this to you when she says anything.

Interview 2 with Yahoo Publisher Network YPN

I have continued the discussion with Brian from the  Yahoo! Product Submit Team.  This is the first time I have seen the department Yahoo! Product Submit Team, so that is interesting and good news for those of us who are sticking with YPN!.

Brian said,” We are currently taking any suggestions on ad formats, you can expect additions and improvements to your Y!PN account as the beta phase moves on. We have no plans as of now regarding a possible paid program for Yahoo! searches.

During the beta phase one of the biggest issues we are working on is (Read the article)

We get a lot of search clicks for YPN (Yahoo Publisher Network).  We actually are getting more of this than Google Adsense Ready websites.  Kind of interesting.  We are the CrimsonLight Blogging Network, soon to be renamed to another domain as we we have far outreached the original thought of CrimsonLight.com which was first a music review site.

So if you are interested in blogging, we can get you started.  If you like it, then you can join the network.  Hoe does that sounds?

YPN to Shorten Revenue Time and Increase Relevance

YPN increasing relevance of ads for bloggersOver the past 2 days CrimsonLight has had the chance to speak with a Yahoo! Publisher Network employee about what is coming up for YPN.  The news is pretty exciting, and will lead to an increase for bloggers that use YPN, and also will help us in getting paid quicker.  From looking around I also see Yahoo trying to integrate more features such as maps, yahoo answers and other things into blogging websites.  So we will have to wait and see how they do this in terms of revenue.  Our communication with Ray from Yahoo went like this:

Ray Devlin, Customer Solutions, Yahoo! Publisher Network says:

“There are new developments on the horizon for the Yahoo! Publisher Network. (Read the article)

Google Offering Email at yourdomain

Many months ago I got the idea that Gmail should offer their email @yourdomain.com  Much like everyone.net and other companies do, but use the awesome gmail service to do it.  I explained to them how this would give them more ad impressions and be a win win for everyone.

I went in to great detail on how other companies offer this and how it would help google and the webmasters that offer it. Google never took the time to email back.  OK, well maybe they hate the idea. (Read the article)
