Google Set to Sell Video in an Auction Setting

Google is jumping in with both feet into the online video scene. Google announced plans this week to allow content owners to set their own prices in a bid to create a more flexible alternative to Apple Computer Inc.’s pioneering iTunes store. I see this as an awesome idea and can not wait to see it take off. Google stock price jumped again when hearing the news.
“It’s the biggest marketplace of content that was previously offline and is now brought online,” said Jennifer Feikin, director of Google Video. Since Apple began selling video for iPods’ there was not much competition, and now google is about to change all of that. This should be exciting to watch this area grow. This may take place on Google Base, in another move to promote that feature of Google, which is now making more and more sense.

Google Space Test Flies at Heathrow Airport

The pilot program is believed to be the first public test that will provide data on Google’s plans to establish public and free offerings of its products.

Travelers at London’s Heathrow Airport have been using a free pilot program called Google Space. Beginning last Thursday, travelers have been able to use ten laptops to try out six Google programs: Google Earth, Google Local, Google Toolbar, Froogle, Google Mobile, Google Mail, and Picasa.

Also available to the fliers, is general web surfing. This test for Google, may be a glimpse into the future.
