I saw this quote today and it made me laugh a bit. I don’t know why, it just did. So here you go.
Hip-Hop is Dead?
“Hip-hop is at its most commercial point right now. So once you say that sentence, you have to pretty much say it’s dead, because what people are going to start doing is finding something new to do or a new way to do it.”
–Andre 3000 of OutKast, Vibe, May 2004
We of course know that the hip-hop scene has been commercialized a long time ago, just most people that listen to it have no clue. The hip-hop scene is ran by a few rich guys at the top that make most of the money and use the younger generation to shoot each other up, tear down women, and anything else to make a buck.

Andre 3000 of OutKast is a true prophet indeed. LOL
Actually, I don’t think hip-hop is dead, in fact, it may even be growing and expanding out with artists including positive messages, a very welcome respite from the garbage hip-hop usually spews.
There are more and more Christian hip-hop artists breaking in and even some mainstream acts attempting to carry a less offensive message that doesn’t glorify gangs, violence, drugs or degrade women.
I think the music is here to stay, but I’m praying the message carried by it changes for the better.

I agree hip hop has been dying. It has expanded into “club bangers” and nothing else. Everything is directed to the young fresh listeners who do not recognize real, fresh, raw, music. Most hiphop nowadays does not impress me anymore because everyone has tried to follow the legends who created hip hop and turn it into a joke. The record producers pay artist and they sell out to make a name or just simply wanna be heard. Violence, gang, drugs, degrading women is what hip hop is and that will never be erased. Sorry to say christian artists will not make it anytime soon.
Music is here to stay, not great music, but music will be here always.
