INPOP RECORDS SCORES SIX SONGS IN THE TOP 25
March 7, 2007—Indie label Inpop Records scored six songs in the Top 25 this week on Christian Hit Radio, according to Radio & Records. The tally includes songs by three new Inpop artists, Everyday Sunday, Jimmy Needham and Foolish Things.
Inpop’s newest signing, Everyday Sunday, landed at No. 8 this week with “Find Me Tonight,” the debut single from its forthcoming May 22 release, Wake Up! Wake Up! The song’s impressive chart position comes a mere six week since its add date. New faces singer-songwriter Jimmy Needham and pop/rock band Foolish Things also made an appearance with “Dearly Loved” at No. 23 and “Who Can Compare” at No. 25 respectively.
Established artists Mat Kearney, Superchick and newsboys held the remaining Inpop spots with Kearney’s “Crashing Down” cracking the Top 10 at No. 9, newsboys latest single “Something Beautiful” debuting at No. 22, and after 28 weeks on the chart, 13 of them spent at No. 1, Superchick’s “Stand in the Rain” stays steady at No.11.
“We are very pleased with our continued success at radio, especially in such a competitive climate,” says Inpop president Dale Bray. “It’s also pleasing to see the spread of success across our roster; we expect success with groups like newsboys and Superchick, but to see all of our new artists making their mark on the charts is a real achievement.”
Mark Giles, director of promotions for Inpop Records, agrees, “In a relatively short time, Inpop has emerged a serious force at radio. The artist roster is STRONG, and label management is absolutely committed to building partnerships with stations across the country. I’m proud to be working with them, and see this trend as just the tip of the success iceberg that is to come.”
