“Drifting Away” Prominently Featured on ABC’s “Private Practice”
New music from sister duo Tal & Acacia
is a hot topic with both iTunes and the ABC network, as two songs off the group’s debut album titled Wake Me are set for feature placement. Launching tomorrow, Oct.6, iTunes selects the track “ClearView” for its FREE Discovery Download week-long spotlight, and chooses to further promote Tal & Acacia’s music through the iTunes Facebook group, reaching over 2 million fans. In conjunction with this promotion, Tal & Acacia’s 11-song debut album Wake Me releases tomorrow at iTunes.Tal & Acacia’s music will also be heard in primetime next week as ABC selects the track “Drifting Away,” off the duo’s buzz-worthy album, to feature in the network’s hit drama “Private Practice,” airing Oct. 15.
The duo—sisters Tal & Acacia—grew up in Portland, Maine, and first began songwriting and playing guitar in their teen years, while the family spent an insightful year in Russia aiding a humanitarian orphan ministry. Now, in their early twenties, Tal & Acacia aim to create songs that wake listeners and refresh the soul. Musically, Tal & Acacia bear resemblance to such acts as Feist, Norah Jones, Imogen Heap and Sixpence None The Richer, and credit songwriting inspiration from artists like Keith Green and Stevie Wonder.
Releasing at iTunes on October 6, the quirky pop sound of Tal & Acacia’s debut album, titled Wake Me, is a breath of fresh air—defined by catchy choruses—and girded in joy. Produced by Monroe Jones (Ginny Owens, Chris Rice, Third Day, Caedmon’s Call), Tal & Acacia’s Wake Me is distinctly rich and infectious, and intuitively embraces the clash between the principled, spiritual inner self and a confusing, glittery outer culture.
