RED TAKES HOME FIRST-EVER DOVE AWARD FOR “BREATHE INTO ME”
Modern Rock Band’s No. 1 Radio Single Wins in the Category, Rock Recorded Song

Breakout rock band Red added another highlight to its young existence last night with its first-ever Dove Award for its No. 1 radio single, “Breathe Into Me”, in the category Rock Recorded Song at the 38th Annual GMA (Gospel Music Association) Dove Awards. The Dove Awards were handed out at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. The awards show will be televised in national syndication in May.

Anthony Armstrong, guitarist in Red, shares, “Our first Dove Award means more to us than people may assume. We grew up dreaming of this moment, and to experience it first-hand is beyond words right now. Thank you to everyone who is a part of ‘Red Nation’, you know who you are.”

“Breathe Into Me” spent multiple weeks in the No. 1 position at Christian Rock radio, and is now climbing the mainstream Active Rock radio chart, currently at No. 21.

Including its nomination, and subsequent win, in the Rock Recorded Song category, Red received three overall Dove Award nominations at the 38th Annual GMA Dove Awards. The band’s current album, End of Silence, received a nomination in the Rock Album category and its music video, “Breathe Into Me”, was nominated for Short Form Music Video.
