Scary Movie 4 Movie Review

Scary Movie 4 Movie ReviewScary Movie 4

Scary Movie 4 from our take is definately a do not see movie. We feel the others shouldn’t have been done, and now a 4th one that is filled with bad language and sex scenes, is just too much of a bad thing.

THIS FILM FEATURES GRAPHIC VIOLENCE AND LEWD SEXUAL CONTENT. THIS REVIEW REFERENCES THAT CONTENT AND IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN.

Pop-culture parody movies have one thing in mind, and it’s certainly not quality: artistic, moral or otherwise. No, their goal is to cater to the absolute lowest common denominator in every sense. And by that standard, Scary Movie 4 scores high marks.

Throughout the continuous send-ups that include The Grudge, The Ring, Saw, War of the Worlds, Signs, The Village, Brokeback Mountain and even Million Dollar Baby, it’s hard to find a moment not filled with sexual sight gags, crude language and over-the-top violence played for laughs. And by the way, yes, some of those movies were already parodied in the last Scary Movie. Could there finally be an end in sight? Vol. 4′s posters sport the tagline, “The fourth and final chapter of the trilogy.” So are Scary Movie’s makers finally ready to throw in the towel and admit they ran out of ideas a decade ago? I hope so. Plugged In

“Marginally preferable to its immediate predecessor (mostly because it seems slightly less crass–or am I becoming inured?), but it’s nothing to write home about.”

– Frank Swietek, ONE GUY’S OPINION

“Scary Movie 4 is pretty frightening all right. It’s positively terrifying that the Scary Movie franchise continues to soldier on when it should have been dead and buried years ago.”

– Pam Grady, REEL.COM
